Iran animations gear up to Bulgarian filmfest

A batch of 9 short animated pieces has geared up for 9th Int'l Animation Film Festival Golden Kuker- Sofia in Bulgaria.

A batch of 9 short animated pieces from Iran has geared up for the 9th International Animation Film Festival (IAFF) Golden Kuker- Sofia in Bulgaria.

‘The Sixth String’ by Bahram Azimi and ‘Once Upon a Time’ by Mahin Javaherian are Iranian lineup to vie at the Short Film [10 to 45 min] competition program of the upcoming Bulgarian screening event.

“About 90 years ago, a musician wants to compose his new music based on a new car which was released”, ‘The Sixth String’ synopsis reads.

‘Once Upon A Time’ is a musical animation piece which depicts how a mother teaches her daughter the ways of life in the form of Persian folklore songs.

Behnam Asadollahi will also attend the Super Short [about 1 min] category of the event with ‘Hard Way’.

Short Film [up to 10 min] category also host ‘Beyond the Black’ by Sepideh Eydi, ‘Blows with the Wind’ by Hazhir Asadi, ‘Cyber Cage’ by Ali Khorramzadeh and ‘In a Framework’ by Jafar Sayyadi.

Last but not least, ‘Am I a wolf?’ by Amir-Houshang Moein and ‘Mother’ by  Nasim Eyni will be Iran other representatives to compete at the Short Film Made For Kids section of the event.

The festival, as put by the official website, “is a bridge between professionals from all over the world and succeeds in showing the best of Bulgarian and world animation, aiming to stimulate the creative expressions of animators from all over the world.”

The latest run of the event will be held on May 7-12, 2019 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
